Q:  What is Java?

A:  For complete answer, click here.

Java was created by Sun Microsystems in 1991.  It is an Object Oriented programming language which is touted to be  platform-independent, hence the "write once, run everywhere" saying.

Java is most well-known for its role in the Internet by sprucing up web pages with animations and interactive applets.  However, Java is also well-suited for building enterprise-wide information systems.

Q:  How can it help my business?

A:  Java can be used to build a new system for your business, or it can be used to enhance your existing systems, even if your systems are 20+ year old mainframe based legacy systems!  The possibilities are only limited do a designers imagination. Java is suitable for everything from web animations, gaming, 3D imaging, database applications, e-commerce, to legacy system connectivity.

Java is especially useful for network-based systems. It was designed to be simple, portable, fast, and able to run on multiple platforms.
